Blogs I'm enjoying right now

  • David Grossman's blog
  • Tony Sharp gets political
Tony has an interesting take on IC - his blog doesn't just talk about good practice - there's an underlying political edge. I don't agree with everything he says but it makes me think (sometimes!).
  • The Chime Blog
Thoughts from my colleagues across the Chime Group
  • Competent Communicator
The work that Sue Dewhurst and I did to define competencies for communicators

  • Wedge at Kilobox
    An always interesting collection
  • Spreading Science
Explaining the theory behind how the world works - even I can understand it
  • simply-blogging
    Marc, Dan and Kelly -
  • David Ferrabee's Blog
I love how he writes it
  • Heather Yaxley
Heather's ideas on PR and stuff

Interesting, Liam. Do you think the increased importance of Internal Comms and Change Management are directly linked to the fact that many companies have contracted in size due to the recession and post-recession sensibilities? Seems those are times when good internal comms matter most, to keep the remaining workers on task and productive...

Hi Liam - I agree (I think) with you. The survey doesn't really say that much - except that possibly these Directors of Communications don't quite fully understand the role of Internal Communication. It would be interesting to hear the views of the HR Directors of the same 46 companies: I suspect the results would be a little bit more substantial.

Hi Alison

I think it's a case of they know its important but comms people have failed to explain how....

Which plays to Sanjoy's point...
